The Baden-Württemberg Exchange Program

The Baden-Württemberg Exchange Program provides opportunities for students from all disciplines to receive credit for studies at institutions in Connecticut’s partner-state of Baden-Württemberg.  Baden-Württemberg is the home of some of Europe’s oldest and finest universities including Heidelberg, Freiburg, Tübingen, Konstanz, Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Hohenheim and Ulm.

Industry Partnerships

The German program offers practical experience for all engineering disciplines, and it takes advantage of specific national strengths in cutting-edge engineering fields. The German program is renowned for its exceptional programs in automotive, mechanical, chemical, biomedical, computer science and green technologies. It routinely sends students on internships with Merck, Böhringer-Ingelheim, Porsche, Fraunhofer Institute, Mercedes, Audi, Trumpf, MTU Aero Engines, Bosch, and BMW, among many others. Connecticut itself is home to over 150 German companies, and the EUROTECH program is building close ties for you to intern in CT first before you take your experience and expertise to Germany.

Student Experience

The program currently has around 50 students in the program and student life includes a German Speaking Club and a variety of extracurricular activities: company visits, study trips to Germany, social events in the German Studies program such as Kaffeestunde.
